Bespoke Service

Our bespoke service enables you to fully complement your outfits with one-off designs that are truly individual. Face to face consultations can be booked by appointment to discuss your requirements.  

Traditional Hats

The traditional hats are made from felt and hand blocked using vintage wooden blocks, Felt has been used for producing hats for centuries, and we use 3 different types.

Wool Felt is a high quality felt made from sheep's wool. It gives a smooth, defined finish and is ideal for hats with moulded features. It also comes in a range of colours making it a very popular choice. 

Peachbloom Felt is a very high quality fur felt with a soft velvety short pile. It is sometimes known as velour and gives a wonderful finish and sheen to the finished hat. 

Fur Felt is the highest quality felt and has a deeper pile than Peachbloom giving a very soft tactile finish. It is also a lot warmer making it ideal for winter hats.

All the felts used are sourced carefully to ensure the highest quality and best finish for the design of each individual hat.

Fascinators and Headpieces

Sinamay is widely used for summer hats and fascinators as it is light, airy and creates stunning sculptural shapes. Sinamay is woven from the processed stalks of the abaca tree, a banana palm native to the Philippines. It comes in a wide range of colours and finishes. Other materials may also be used dependant on the design and creative process and are detailed in the description of the individual products.

Sizing

Fascinators and headpieces are all one size and will be secured by headbands, combs or elastic.

All sizes for hats will be stated in the description. The majority of hats available in the online shop are made to the industry standard head size of 57cms or 22.5  inches. If this isn't the correct size for you the hat may be able to be adapted to fit, or an original bespoke hat can be made to your own size. Please contact us to discuss.  

How to measure your Hat size

Place a tape measure around your head positioned mid-forehead and just above the ears. Take note of the measurement in centimetres or inches.

Caring for your Hat

Spot clean with a slightly damp sponge. Brush with a soften brush to remove fluff or dust.
